Materia Medica AI (the “App”) is a study and reference tool for homeopathic practitioners and students, developed by ManuTech. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We’ve tried to keep it short and concrete.
1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect health records, prescriptions, or patient-identifying information beyond what you choose to type into a case note.
- We do not sell personal data to third parties.
- We do not access your Google Drive outside the App’s own private
appDatafolder. - We do not read your contacts, photos, microphone, or location.
4. Where data is stored
Most data stays on your device. The cross-device pieces (account, settings, cases backup, analytics) are stored with Google Cloud / Firebase, which Google operates in regions of its choosing. Your backed-up cases live in your own Google Drive, not ours.
5. Third-party services we use
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Analytics, Cloud Functions (privacy).
- Google Vertex AI (Gemini) — AI completions (privacy).
- Google Sign-In and Google Drive — Identity + your own appData backup (privacy).
- Apple Sign-In — Identity, when you choose Apple as the sign-in method (privacy).
- Google AdMob — Advertising in the free tier (privacy).
- RevenueCat — Subscription receipt management (privacy).
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data, email us and we will delete it.
7. Your choices
- Sign out from Settings to stop sync. Your local data remains on the device.
- Disconnect Google Drive from Settings to stop cloud backup.
- Opt out of ATT in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking to receive only non-personalised ads.
- Delete your account and data in-app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This immediately erases your Firestore data, waitlist entries, and server-side records. Drive backup is yours to delete directly from drive.google.com. If you no longer have App access, email manohar.nv@gmail.com from the address tied to your account and we’ll do it within 30 days.
8. AI processing and Responsible AI
Several features use Google’s Vertex AI (Gemini). We follow a set of internal Responsible-AI principles for how those features handle your data and behave:
- Consent first. Before any text is sent to the cloud AI for the first time, the App shows a one-time notice and asks you to agree. You can decline and continue using the non-AI features.
- No training on your data. Your prompts are used only to generate your response. They are not used to train Google’s models, and we do not sell or share them.
- Minimise what you send. The App asks you not to enter information that identifies a patient by name. Please describe symptoms, not identities.
- Privacy-preserving logs. Our diagnostic and cost logs deliberately exclude prompt content. We record only metadata such as which feature ran, latency, and token counts.
- Grounded, not invented. AI suggestions are grounded in the App’s bundled classical sources and local database; the App is designed to avoid fabricating remedies or citations.
- Safety screening. Free-text symptom entry is screened on your device for emergency “red flags”; when one is detected the App surfaces an urgent-care notice instead of an AI suggestion.
- Transparency. AI-generated content is labelled as such, with a visible disclaimer and the model name, wherever it appears.
- Human oversight. AI output is assistive only. A qualified practitioner makes the decision.
9. Medical disclaimer
The App is for educational and reference use only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional medical judgment. AI output is generated probabilistically and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical decisions, and contact a doctor or emergency services for urgent symptoms.
10. Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, surface a notice inside the App.
